How to Manage Your Time Effectively

Time management chartA simple but effective way to manage your time is to write down what tasks need to be done by what deadline, and then rate their priority as Low, Medium or High. Plotting the dates on a weekly or monthly calendar gives a simple visual indication of where your priorities should lie. In some cases you may have set deadlines, others you may create yourself.

When you create your own deadlines, it's important to make sure they are realistic - if they're too strict and you fall behind you may find yourself in a vicious circle that's difficult to break. If you're not strict enough, you may fall behind and miss the official deadline! It's also important for you to respect your own deadlines - just because you have set them it doesn't mean you can ignore them!
