Tools to Help
There are a range of statistical software packages that have been designed to help you analyse your research data. It is likely that your University subscribes to more than one software package, but it's worth checking with your supervisor or lecturer to see what is the preferred software in your department. Although they are all user-friendly and easy to learn, as a relative novice there's no point in trying several systems if you only have to master one.

It is also possible to analyse your data using Excel, although the statistical facilities available are considerably less than if you used a dedicated statistics programme.
