Transformations It's not uncommon to find that your frequency distribution graph is skewed, particularly if you're working with biological samples. Many statistical analyses assume that your data are normally distributed and therefore your results may be invalid if your distribution is skewed.If your frequency distribution graph indicates your data is not normally distributed, it is valid to use a transformation to achieve normal distribution. There are several methods you can apply to your data, including:
Be aware, however, that you must ensure the transformed frequency distribution graph is normal - if not, try a different transformation. |
