AcknowledgementsIt's not always necessary to have an acknowledgement component to your presentation but it is common to see them within conference presentations where the audience may be less familiar with your work. An acknowledgement slide gives you an opportunity to thank those people who have supported your work. If you've been awarded a grant to carry out your research the grant number and awarding institute should be mentioned, as should colleagues who have helped. It's not an awards ceremony so there's no need to thank everyone personally, but remember who the important ones are and don't forget to mention them! It may not be necessary to run through the list of names - acknowledging the grant details and leaving your audience to read the rest whilst you answer questions is fine. |
